Keynote Speaker:
Michael Ford
Founder of The Hip Hop Architecture Camp

A licensed architect originally from Detroit, Ford is now based in Madison, Wisconsin. He is the founder of Muundo, Inc a 501c3 through which he runs The Hip Hop Architecture Camp, an international program which positions Hip Hop Culture as a catalyst to introduce youth to architecture and design. The program has been featured in a variety of media including the Oprah Winfrey Network’s Super Soul Sunday, The TODAY Show, Rolling Stone, Architect Magazine, and ESPN.

He is the founding principal of BrandNu Design, an architectural firm where he is leading the design of projects such as The Universal Hip Hop Museum in The Bronx. In 2022, Ford was named Young Architect of The Year by American Institute of Architects Wisconsin Chapter. Ford currently serves as the President of Wisconsin’s Chapter of National Organization of Minority Architects.

​Above all, Michael Ford is a loving husband and father to his sons, the late MJ3 and Mason.

A Registered Interior Designer in Texas, and principal at DLR Group, he has brought impeccable style and timeless interior design to workplaces for over 20 years. His focus on each client’s vision and his extensive knowledge of product resources adds value not only to his clients, but also to end users. Art is inspired by design in all forms and has a keen eye for artfulness across mediums. Spaces with Art’s design imprint exude elegance and welcome, mirroring his personality.

Art is a graduate of the University of North Texas-Denton and was recognized in 2012 as one of Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” He has designed over 200 projects for some of the most recognized business leaders in Dallas and beyond.

Now the Workplace Design Leader at DLR Group, a 100% employee-owned integrated practice that elevates the human experience through design , Art influences design excellence across 30 global studios. His clients include Google, Invesco, Apple, BSNF, and Prism Health. In Art’s hands, every design endeavor affords the opportunity to learn and grow…a curiosity that he imparts to the many young designers under his mentorship. He is a vocal design advocate in the interior design industry and in his community, passionately speaking, volunteering, and participating in university crits.
