Keynote Speaker:
Annie Jean-Baptiste

Jean-Baptiste is the author of Building for Everyone, the first book about building inclusive products across the intersections of 12 dimensions of diversity. She currently serves as an intrapreneur in residence at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education, and a facilitator for Penn’s Chief Learning Officer Business Acumen program. She is a member of the CTA Health Equity and Access Leadership
(HEAL) Coalition, and sits on the IEEE's Executive committee, Ethically Aligned Design
committee, and co-chairs the DEI committee.

Jean-Baptiste’s been inducted into the Haitian Roundtable’s 1804 society as “One to Watch” and inducted as one of the 30 Black Stars for Face to Face Africa in 2019. She is a former American Heart Association spokesperson, Hack the Hood mentor, and One Young World ambassador.

She is the Head of Product Inclusion & Equity at Google leading Product Inclusion strategy across the company and consults with various Alphabet companies and created the movement 5 years ago as a way to ensure underrepresented users felt validated throughout the product design process. She formerly created programs related to Diversity talent management and career development within several technical product areas within Google.

Jim Prendergast, IIDA,
FAIA
Design Principal, Gensler

With more than 30 years of experience designing innovative and refined spaces, he is an influential leader in the firm’s workplace practices, having designed over 10 million sq feet of commercial interiors and office architecture across the globe.

Prendergast began his career in Chicago at ISD, where he applied architectural training to the field of interior architecture. Beginning first at Perkins & Will and ultimately becoming Principal, he then moved to Goettsch Partners where he helmed the interior architecture practice. At Gensler he quickly rose as a leader within the Professional Services practice and has subsequently become a key driver in the firm’s Office Building/Developer practice.

An accomplished designer and progressive thinker, Prendergast frequently presents at academic and industry forums and his work has been recognized and awarded and is often featured in premier design and client publications.
