Competition Guidelines
Guidelines
Application Requirements

All applications must be completed electronically. No hard copy applications will be accepted. If any of the following items are missing, your application will not be reviewed. Any additional materials will be removed and not considered.

Written Component
  • Statement describing your firm or business, maximum 100 words
  • Statement of your overall contributions to the interior design profession, maximum 350 words
  • Description of what you would likely use the monetary award for, maximum 150 words
Video Component
  • A brief video in which you, in your own words, describe your firm and your approach to success. Please include a description on the progress and growth of your firm since inception, your experience as an entrepreneur in the design industry, and details on how you approach mentoring aspiring designers and emerging professionals.
Letters of Recommendation
  • Three (3) separate letters of recommendation in PDF file format and saved individually must be included. We suggest that each of these letters represent a different peer or voice from your time in the industry, ideas could be previous employers, past business associates, current peers, a vendor or company you’ve worked closely with, and educators or mentors.
Judging

A select committee of design professionals will review the submissions and select one winner to be notified in April 2022.

Prize

The 2022 Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Visionary Award is one $5,000 cash prize to be presented to a recipient in spring 2022. The winner will receive official digital assets, and recognition on IIDA.org, social media channels, and in an official press release distributed to leading industry outlets and media partners.
