The International Interior Design Association brings the design community together through education, thought leadership, and citywide collaboration.

CHICAGO (March 17, 2026) —The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is thrilled to officially welcome the second edition of Chicago Design Week (CDW) occurring during the second week of June 2026. Officially recognized by the City of Chicago, this week-long celebration is a unique, organic platform that brings the design community together to exchange ideas, showcase innovation, and celebrate the city's creative spirit. Taking place in collaboration with NeoCon and Fulton Market Design Days, CDW events will focus on design, culture, education, and thought-leadership to complement the trade events, with a goal to give visitors a holistic view of Chicago.

CHICAGO (February 16,2026)—IIDA is pleased to announce the Best of Competition winners for two international design competitions: the 2025 Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards and the 2025 Global Excellence Awards. In an exceptional showing, W.DESIGN has secured the top honor across both programs for the Deqin Meri Poodom Hotel in Dequin, China.

Executive role marks the launch of IIDA Futures, a new source of global insights and foresight practices for the design industry.

CHICAGO (January 12, 2026)—IIDA is excited to announce Mark Bryan, IIDA, as the association’s first Chief Research and Strategy Officer. Bryan joins IIDA’s executive team as a key driver of IIDA’s focus on a future that encompasses the profession of commercial interior design, the design industry, and the ever-expanding context of design at large. Bryan’s role represents a new chapter for the organization, expanding IIDA’s capability to deliver best-in-class research and globally-based insights for members and the design community; as well as a strategic capacity that will both inform the association’s forward momentum and act as a leading source of future knowledge for the design industry.

CHICAGO (November 24, 2025) — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is honored to announce the winners of this year’s IIDA/WestEdge Design Fair Product Awards and IIDA/WestEdge Design Fair Booth Awards. Winners of the Product Awards are recognized for excellence in aesthetics, design, creativity, and function, as well as the suitability of the design solution to the product challenge. Winners of the Booth Awards are awarded for their originality and visual impact with emphasis on materials, space, color, texture, lighting, and graphics. All entries were evaluated by a panel of distinguished design industry experts during the WestEdge Design Fair Los Angeles showcase.

CHICAGO (November 17, 2025) — International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is excited to announce the Transformation and Innovation Award winner and the Best of Competition winner for the 2025 IIDA Healthcare Design Awards. This year’s Best of Competition winner is EwingCole for the City of Hope – Hope Plaza (Duarte, CA). The Transformation and Innovation Award winner is IA Interior Architects for the North East Medical Services (NEMS) – PACE San Jose Center (San Jose, CA).
