Public bathrooms can tell us a lot about society, from changing cultural norms to shifting attitudes around modesty and gender equity to strides (or backslides) in equality. Yet for such a culturally significant and universally utilized space—everybody needs the bathroom—public bathroom design isn’t always handled with care.
