Leaders Breakfast is our opportunity to put our chapter’s core values, Connect, Community, Advocate, Cultivate and Aspire on center stage!

Leadership Award of Excellence Honoree

Georgie Smith
President and Founder | A Sense of Home

Georgie Smith is President and Founder of A Sense of Home. Smith responded to a cry for help on social media, by a young person who had aged out of foster care. Her random act of kindness spawned thousands of random acts of kindness giving birth to A Sense of Home. Georgie’s unique set of experiences and talent enabled her to envision and design the systems of ASOH that crowd-source high-quality items that would otherwise be destined for landfills. In only 90 minutes a home environment is created and installed by volunteers. Over 1,050 homes were created in the first 10 years. Within days of the outbreak of the 2025 LA fires, Georgie conceived of and launched a new disaster relief initiative to provide fully functioning home environments for community members who lost everything. To meet the moment, the unique ASOH systems were adapted and deployed. An entire community unites its resources to create a home ensuring the beneficiary feels seen, heard & understood. A radically transformative and immersive experience that resembles a modern-day barn-raising, that deeply moves both beneficiary and volunteers alike.
