IIDA ANNOUNCES EWINGCOLE AS THE 7TH ANNUAL HEALTHCARE DESIGN AWARDS BEST OF COMPETITION WINNER

CHICAGO, IL - IIDA proudly announces EwingCole as the Best of Competition winner of the 2018 Healthcare Design Awards for Memorial Sloan Kettering Bergen in Montvale, New Jersey. This competition honors and celebrates outstanding originality and excellence in the design and furnishings of healthcare interior spaces.

“Healthcare design must focus on finding creative and compassionate solutions,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “Unphased by challenges, the design team at EwingCole blended natural and manmade elements to create a space that successfully incorporates biophilia and integrated technology.”

Projects were reviewed by a panel of healthcare design professionals, including Michelle Clark, IIDA, senior associate, Rees Associates; Kerianne W. Graham, AIA, senior associate and healthcare architect, NBBJ; and Anita Rossen, healthcare practice leader, Rice Fergus Miller, Inc. – a B Corp.

“Memorial Sloan Kettering Bergen effortlessly combines wonderful cohesion of planning, interior design, lighting, and furnishings. The challenge of the building type and density of the program make this project solution even more special,” said Clark on behalf of the jury.

The Best of Competition winner was announced and all winners were celebrated at a special awards reception on Thursday, November 8, 2018, in the IDEA Studio at IIDA Headquarters in Chicago. Winning projects are featured on the IIDA website and will be published in the December issue of Healthcare Design magazine.
