6TH ANNUAL IIDA BEST INTERIORS OF LATIN AMERICA & THE CARIBBEAN COMPETITION ANNOUNCES NEW NAME AND CATEGORIES FOR 2018
IIDA Latin America Design Awards is Now Open for Submissions

CHICAGO —The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) proudly announces a refreshed competition name and awards program: IIDA Latin America Design Awards, previously referred to as IIDA Best Interiors of Latin America & The Caribbean Competition. This year’s award program has an expanded list of categories, recognizing interior design projects that reflect the highest levels of creativity and excellence from Latin America and the Caribbean.

The extended list of categories for this year’s awards include new groupings, such as Amenity Spaces and Commercial Lobbies. There is an additional Value Award category that will recognize projects submitted that overcame extraordinary budget constraints. A full list of categories can be found on the 2018 IIDA Latin America Design Awards competition page.

"In its sixth year, the IIDA Latin America Design Awards continue to grow and evolve as design practitioners produce fresh takes on the region - colorful, geometric and modern designs that embrace the best of Latin and Caribbean culture," said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. "We look forward to honoring these talented designers and further showcasing their tremendous accomplishments."

Design projects must be located in Latin America or the Caribbean to be considered for the awards; however, the submitting firm may be located anywhere. Projects completed after Feb. 1, 2016 will be accepted.
