IIDA Announces the Best of Competition Winner for the 49th Annual Interior Design Compeition

CHICAGO — IIDA is pleased to announce the Best of Competition winner for one of its widely-known industry recognitions: the 2023 Interior Design Competition, celebrating innovative interior design and architecture. The 2023 Interior Design Competition Best of Competition winner is JC Architecture & Design for the firm’s work on The Moving Kitchen in Taipei, Taiwan.

“It is a true honor and privilege to recognize this outstanding design project as this year’s Best of Competition winner,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “This distinguished and impressive undertaking highlights the best in craft, ingenuity, and design talent.”

Entries were juried by a distinguished panel of design experts including: Kuchar Studio Owner and Creative Director, Sarah Kuchar-Parkinson, IIDA; Leyden Lewis Design Studio Founder and Creative Director, Leyden Lewis; and Wimberly Interiors SVP and Global Director, Margaret McMahon.

“We’re thoroughly impressed with and inspired by this year’s submissions and each firm’s remarkable artistry,” said McMahon on behalf of the jury. “However, the work recognized as Best of Competition represents magnificent design abilities paired with best-in-class expertise and originality.”

The Best of Competition winner was announced during Revel in Design, IIDA's black-tie event, at The Ritz-Carlton at Water Tower Place, Chicago on Sunday, June 11.
