IIDA ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF TWO PREMIER INTERIOR DESIGN COMPETITIONS
CHICAGO — IIDA is pleased to announce the winners of two prestigious interior design competitions: the 47th annual Interior Design Competition, which celebrates innovative design that encourages new ideas and techniques in interior spaces, and the 28th annual Will Ching Design Competition, which honors originality and excellence in commercial design from firms with five or fewer employees.
"Once again, we are pleased to be honoring the significant impact and strong design presence of firms around the globe," said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. "This year's winners are a deserving group, showcasing surprising new ideas through brave and thoughtful execution."
Winners were chosen by a jury of design experts: Lauren Chipman, CEO, Chipman Design Architecture; Michael Davis, founder and principal, Michael Davis Architects + Interiors; and Ghislaine Viñas, principal, Ghislaine Viñas, LLC.
"These firms challenged design norms and brought exciting originality to the table," said Chipman on behalf of the jury. "From a non-traditional, interactive kindergarten space, to a radical new affordable housing model, these projects demonstrate new possibilities in the realm of the built environment."

Firm: One Plus Partnership Limited, Hong Kong
Project: Goodsten, Buenos Aires
Firm: Hitzig Militello Architects, Buenos Aires and Miami
