CHICAGO — International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is excited to announce the winners of the 2024 IIDA Healthcare Design Awards. These awards recognize design firms for creativity and innovation in the design of healthcare facilities across fourteen categories within Ambulatory, Extended Care and Assisted Living Facilities, and Hospitals.

“The healthcare environment is constantly changing, yet the global demand for quality care combined with the experience of the patient and care staff within the space, remains essential,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “The ingenuity and effectiveness demonstrated by these winning firms showcase their ability to intertwine functionality with well-being, increasing the benchmark for the future of healthcare design every year.”

Projects were reviewed by a panel of healthcare design professionals, including Spellman Brady & Company Project Manager and Senior Designer, Christa Barr, IIDA, CHID; Veterans Health Administration Leasing Development & Design Interior Designer, Julie Barfuss, IIDA; and Lee Health Facilities Planning and Design Interior Design Specialist, Paul Cooper, IIDA, CHID.

“This year's winners transformed the healthcare environment through their strategic placement of color, texture, and artwork,” Cooper said on behalf of the jury. “Their projects not only evoke a feeling of comfort and safety, they demonstrate an understanding of the technical demands of these spaces.”
