IIDA to Inaugurate Stacey Crumbaker as 2025-2026 International Board President at the IIDA Annual Meeting in June
Press RoomCHICAGO – IIDA is proud to announce Stacey Crumbaker, IIDA, Assoc. AIA as the 2025-2026 president of the IIDA International Board of Directors, with Bill Bouchey, FIIDA elevated to the IIDA president-elect. Also elected to the International Board for new terms as vice president are Gilbert Broco, IIDA, CDF; Libby Gillen, Industry IIDA, CDF; Amie Keener, IIDA; and John Sadlon, IIDA.
“Stacey is an exemplary professional with unwavering dedication to this field and a relentless pursuit of advancing designers from the classroom to the boardroom,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “In particular, her focus on education, sustainability, and advocacy maintains our strong focus on steady growth of the design profession.”
All international board members will be officially inaugurated at the IIDA Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 8 at WorkLife Meetings at the Merchandise Mart, 222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza, Chicago.

Practicing at the intersection of architecture and interiors, Crumbaker brings a unique perspective and expertise to the design of educational facilities. With more than 15 years of experience, she has cultivated her practice as a response to human experience and deeply believes in design's ability to shape community. Crumbaker was one of five nationwide recipients awarded the 2020 AIA Associates Award. This award is given to Associate AIA members who are outstanding leaders and creative thinkers; recognizing their significant contributions to their communities and the architecture profession. She is a passionate and dedicated advocate for the continued advancement of the profession of Interior Design. Stacey was the Northern Pacific Chapter President in 2015 and sat on the IIDA national Advocacy Council that same year. In 2016, she was the recipient of the IIDA Distinguished Leadership Award, recognizing her on-going dedication to interior design advocacy.
President Elect (2025-2026) Bill Bouchey, FIIDA

With more than 30 years of experience, Bouchey is an exceptional design leader in all areas of commercial interior design. He is a published, award-winning designer with a passion for collaboration, visioning, conceptualizing, and storytelling. His designs are both tasteful and functional, and respect the client’s design ambitions within a stated budget. He provides creative leadership for each design team, sets quality standards, develops the design concepts, and maintains design concept integrity throughout design development, through completion. He has volunteered with IIDA for over 15 years in programs aiding emerging professionals such as panels, student dialogue, mentoring, shadowing, portfolio workshops, and competition juries/award programs. Additionally, he has served as Co-Chair of the NYC Leaders Breakfast Committee.
Vice President (2025-2026) Gilbert Broco, IIDA, CDF

Broco is a distinguished professional with a rich background in architecture, interior design, and workplace consulting. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design Architecture from the University of Puerto Rico in 2002. He obtained NCIDQ certification and became a Florida Registered Interior Designer, establishing himself as a leading figure in the field. With over 20 years of service, Gilbert is the president of CI Group, a contract furniture dealership spanning eight locations across the Southeastern U.S. Throughout his tenure, he has effectively overseen the design department, culture, and operational facets of the company.
He served as the President of the IIDA Central Florida Chapter in 2018 and has contributed as a Trustee of the IIDA Foundation, serving as the 2024 Chair. Beyond his organizational affiliations, he is deeply engaged in various leadership roles within the Tampa Bay community. He holds the Vice-Chair position on the Leadership Tampa Bay Executive Board, is a member of the USF Leadership and Innovation Forum of Tampa, and the CEO Council of Tampa Bay. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Professional Impact Award from IIDA Florida Central Chapter in 2021 and COO of the Year Award from Tampa Bay Business and Wealth Apogee Awards in 2022.

With more than 25 years of experience in the commercial building industry, Keener is passionate about pushing design boundaries and enhancing awareness to create inclusive spaces for everyone. Following a hip/hamstring injury she experienced firsthand the impact of space design on people of all abilities. This life-changing event fueled her commitment to inclusive design. As a Firmwide Inclusive Design Network Co-Leader Keener, is a sought-after speaker on topics such as inclusive design, research, and neurodiversity. She shares her expertise with audiences across various sectors, including architecture, design, real estate, retail, workplace, and insurance industries. In addition to her speaking engagements, she is also an accomplished author. She has written numerous articles and publications on inclusive design and related topics, contributing insights to industry journals and magazines. She is a graduate of Kansas State University, where she received a Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree with specialties in furniture and product design. She is a registered Interior Designer in the state of Texas.

Gillen’s early love of fine arts led her to pursue an interior design degree from Syracuse University. She began her career as a designer at John Hancock headquarters in Boston where she began to design with a corporate culture. She then moved to Chicago to work for various firms. The culture of Chicago and the diversity of the city opened her eyes to a new perspective on design. Gillen first joined Tarkett as an account executive in both Chicago and Austin, before being appointed vice president of the architecture and design segment. In both these roles over the last 17 years, she has used her design, marketing and product knowledge to consult with A&D clients and help them find appropriate solutions for every space.
Presently, she works for Momentum Textiles and Wallcovering as Vice President of A+D Engagement. Her unwavering passion for sustainable and people-friendly design has supported both the internal Momentum organization and its customers in focusing on their health and wellness initiatives. As a member of professional organizations such as IIDA, Chief, NOMA and Dignity in Design, her values and beliefs drive her pursuit of continuing education and service to the industry.
Vice President (2025-2026) John Sadlon, IIDA, AIA

As a Principal based in the firm’s New York studio since 2012, his responsibilities include managing local workplace teams and international client accounts, as well as leading business strategy for thirty-two offices worldwide. John is a licensed architect with more than 25 years of experience in architecture and design, with focus on complex commercial fit-outs for a diverse array of international businesses and organizations. He is a recognized expert in crafting real estate solutions that adapt to the evolving needs of the clients and communities he serves. Risk mitigation and consensus building are essential aspects of his unique leadership style. John is adept at mobilizing domestic and international teams for the delivery of services on global projects; his completed works to date exceed 12 million square feet, with locations in more than 48 cities across twelve countries worldwide. He is an active member of the IIDA New York chapter, volunteering his time for the Student Mentorship Program as well as the Leaders Breakfast Committee; serving as Co-Chair from 2019-2023. In 2022, John received the Ellen Kushman Distinguished Service Award for his professional contributions to the industry and IIDA.

In addition to these appointments, while in their current term, IIDA International Board President Erika Moody, FIIDA, enacted a special presidential appointment. Mark Bryan, IIDA, Certified Futurist, has officially been named IIDA’s Futurist-in-Residence and an ongoing special advisor to the International Board of Directors. This appointment will directly support current and future board leadership through the application of foresight practices to advance the profession and industry of interior design.
