IIDA Announces the Best of Competition Winner for the 51st Annual Interior Design Competition

CHICAGO — IIDA is pleased to announce the Best of Competition winner for one of the most prestigious industry recognitions: the 2025 Interior Design Competition, celebrating innovative interior design and architecture. The 2025 Interior Design Competition Best of Competition winner is INNOCAD architecture for the firm’s work on FRACTAL CHAPEL at State Hospital Graz, Graz, Austria.

“It brings us great joy to celebrate this year’s best of competition winner,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “This projects remarkable composition is showcased through attention to detail and purposeful craftsmanship, making it an inspiring example of design at its highest level.”

Entries were chosen by a jury including the following distinguished design experts: Deture Culsign Principal, Kimshasa Baldwin; Maison Fee Founder, Chrissy Fehan; and Graham Design Founder and Creative Director, Brian Graham, IIDA, IDSA.

“The jury applauds this year’s winner for their smart and simple material use to create an inspired solution,” said Baldwin on behalf of the jury. “The design teams’ intentional placement of light creates a heightened serenity and quiet sanctity throughout the modest chapel.”

The Best of Competition winner was announced during Revel in Design, IIDA's premier design celebration, at The Four Seasons Chicago on Sunday, June 8.
