IIDA Announces Winners of Two Prestigious Design Competitions

CHICAGO — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is honored to announce the winners of the 52nd annual Interior Design Competition and the 33rd annual Will Ching Design Competition. The Interior Design Competition, recognizes creativity and innovation within the global interior design industry, paired with the Will Ching Design Competition that highlights outstanding commercial design from firms with ten employees or fewer.

“This year’s winners exemplify a remarkable level of craft and creativity, raising the standard for what it means to be truly exceptional in design,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “Their work reflects the evolving impact of design on a global scale and highlights the talent driving the industry forward.”

Winners were chosen by a jury including the following distinguished design experts: Former Global Director of Architecture and Interior Design at Airbnb, Mari Balestrazzi; CEO and Chief Creative Officer of RAPT, David Galullo; and Founder and Design Lead at Archiflux, Patricia Rotondo, IIDA.

“Across these winning projects, there is a clarity of vision that feels both refined and deeply considered,” said Rotondo on behalf of the jury. “Each one reveals the depth of thinking required to translate complex challenges into cohesive, meaningful environments.”

The Interior Design Competition winners include:

Aviation and Transportation (centers, hubs, stations, and transportation-related facilities)
Project: United Polaris Lounge, O’Hare International Airport, Chicago
Firm: SCB, Chicago

Corporate Space Large (1,000 square meters and above)
Project: Gateway Building, Seattle, WA
Firm: Perkins&Will, Seattle, WA

Corporate Space Small (under 1,000 square meters)
Project: Hong Kong Creative Center, Hong Kong
Firm: CCD/Cheng Chung Design, Shenzhen

Hotels
Project: W Sardinia, Poltu Quatu, Italy
Firm: Meyer Davis, New York

Residences Large (125 square meters and above)

Project: Terrace Mountain Residence, West Lake Hills, TX
Firm: Allison Burke Interior Design in collaboration with A Parallel Architecture, Austin, TX

Retail (stores, boutiques)
Project: THE KNOT HOUSE, Beijing
Firm: One Plus Partnership Limited, Hong Kong

The Will Ching Design Competition winner is:

Restaurants, Lounges, & Bars
Project: Fishbar, Savannah, GA
Firm: STUDIO THO, Savannah, GA

The winners of both competitions will be honored in person at Revel in Design, IIDA’s premier design celebration, on Sunday, June 7 at the Four Seasons Chicago.
