IIDA College of Fellows Announces 2026 Inductees
Press RoomCHICAGO — IIDA is honored to announce the induction of four new members to the prestigious IIDA College of Fellows. This year’s honorees are Mahlum Architects Principal, Stacey Crumbaker, FIIDA, Assoc. AIA, of the IIDA Northern Pacific chapter; Design People Leaders, Inc. Principal, Managing Director, Diana Farmer-Gonzalez, FIIDA, CDF, Assoc. AIA, of the IIDA South Florida chapter; Gensler Design Manager, Amie Keener, FIIDA, RID, of the IIDA Texas/Oklahoma chapter; and HDR Global Design Director, Interiors, Lois Wellwood, FIIDA, LID of the IIDA Illinois chapter.
“We are honored to welcome this all-woman group of inductees into the College of Fellows this year,” said College of Fellows Chair, Susanne Molina, FIIDA. “These incredibly talented professionals have demonstrated exceptional leadership and impact across the industry – from advancing legislation and professional standards, to championing inclusive design and shaping global interiors. Their collective contributions continue to elevate the practice of interior design and are an inspiration to the next generation of designers.”
Induction into the College of Fellows is the highest honor IIDA bestows, demonstrating outstanding professional achievements and exceptional leadership in the interior design community, and who have made extraordinary impacts and contributions to the interior design profession and industry.
Stacey Crumbaker, FIIDA, Assoc. AIA
Stacey Crumbaker is a Principal at Mahlum Architects, and in tandem, serves as the 2025-2026 President of IIDA’s International Board of Directors. Her leadership focuses on advancing interior design as a discipline that is clearly defined, technically rigorous, and understood for its impact. Through her work with CIDQ and ICOR, she has helped shape national frameworks that clarify scope and strengthen regulation. She played a key role in advancing interior design legislation in the Pacific Northwest. Stacey holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University. She is NCIDQ Certified and an Accredited Learning Environment Planner.
Diana Farmer-Gonzalez, FIIDA, CDF, Assoc. AIA
For over 30 years, Diana Farmer-Gonzalez has advanced architecture and interior design as a creative practice, cultural force, and catalyst for human connection. From her start as a designer at Arquitectonica International to leading Gensler’s Miami office, her journey has been defined by building teams, shaping culture, elevating place-making and championing the people behind great design. Farmer-Gonzalez founded Design People Leaders, Inc. to develop the next generation of designers, architects, manufacturers, and builders. Through coaching and education, she strives to cultivate leaders who unite creativity with character, clarity with confidence, and drive with compassion.
Amie Keener, FIIDA, RID
With more than 25 years of experience in the commercial building industry, Amie Keener is passionate about creating inclusive spaces for all. After an injury, she experienced the impact of space design on people of all abilities, fueling her commitment to inclusive design. As a Firmwide Inclusive Design Network Co-Leader at Gensler, Keener is a sought-after speaker on inclusive design, neurodiversity, and related topics. She has also written numerous articles, contributing insights to industry journals and magazines. Keener earned a bachelor’s in Interior Architecture from Kansas State University. She is a registered Interior Designer in the state of Texas.
Lois Wellwood, FIIDA, LID
As Global Design Director, Interiors, Lois Wellwood is a driving force behind HDR's Interiors Practice. Based in Chicago, she collaborates across continents, bringing award-winning expertise and strategic vision to the firm’s interdisciplinary design work. With more than 25 years of experience, Wellwood is a results-driven leader known for guiding complex, integrated teams to deliver precedent-setting projects. Her leadership advances diverse perspectives, emerging innovations, and strategic thinking to shape transformational interiors. A recognized thought leader, she has presented at notable forums including NeoCon, BuildEx, BisNow, Architizer, and Interior Design.
All inductees will be honored and accepted into the College of Fellows during the IIDA Annual Meeting on June 7, 2026, at the WorkLife Meetings at The Mart, 222 W.
