Woman entrepreneurs with a business or firm specializing in commercial interior design or product design are encouraged to apply for the Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Education Award. The firm must have been in existence for a minimum of one (1) year and no more than seven (7) years as of January 1, 2025. This fund was established to celebrate Anna Hernandez (pictured above), the visionary founder and president of Luna Textiles.
There is no cost to apply for this award.
All applications must be completed electronically. No hard copy applications will be accepted. If any of the following items are missing, your application will not be reviewed. Any additional materials will be removed and not considered.
- Statement describing the purpose and mission of your firm or business, maximum 200 words
- Statement of your involvement with, and contributions to the commercial interior design profession, maximum 200 words
- Statement describing how you would utilize the monetary award to support your business, maximum 200 words
- A brief 3-5 minute video in which you, in your own words, describe your firm and your approach to success. Please include a description on the progress and growth of your firm since inception, your experience as an entrepreneur in the design industry, and details on how you approach mentoring aspiring designers and emerging professionals.
Two (2) separate letters of recommendation in PDF file format and saved individually must be included. We suggest that each of these letters represent a different peer or voice from your time in the industry. These could be previous employers, past business associates, current peers, a vendor or company you’ve worked closely with, educators, or mentors.
A select committee of design professionals will review the submissions and select one winner to be notified May 31, 2025.
The 2025 Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Award is one $5,000 cash award. The winner will receive official digital assets, and recognition on IIDA.org, and IIDA social media channels.
