The dxdf Scholarship Award provides funding for students to pursue academic and community-based programs for architecture and interior design.
Eligibility
This award is open to past participants of IIDA’s Design Your World (DYW) program in any of the four city locations: Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and St. Louis. Applicants must have completed the 2-week program, and be currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution in an interior design or architecture program. IIDA membership is not required to apply.

Submission Requirements
Video Component
Please submit a 2-3 minute video that includes the following:
- Share how the power of design has already impacted your life
- Share your motivation for pursuing a career in interior design or architecture
- Share how you will proactively leverage your career in design to positively impact your future clients and community
Your video can be styled in ‘essay’ format – where you are responding to the prompt questions (listed above) directly to the camera. For tips on sound quality, you can check out this link.
Additional Materials
- You are encouraged to include original drawings, sketches, or project work if you have them. It is not required.
- (1) letter of recommendation from your Program Chair, Dean, Instructor or mentor (max 1 page).
- To validate your undergraduate status, please provide a copy of your current student ID, in JPEG or PDF format.
Judging
The IIDA Foundation Board of Trustees will review the submissions and select the scholarship recipients. If any of the above documentation is not included, your application will not be reviewed.
Award
Up to two (2) recipients will be eligible to receive $1,000 each in scholarship funds. Winners will also receive official digital assets, a mention on IIDA’s website, and recognition on IIDA social media channels.
