Eligibility

Permanent showrooms and temporary booths exhibiting at NeoCon in The Mart and Design Days at Fulton Market 2026 are eligible for entry.

Important Dates

The IIDA Showroom & Booth Design Competition takes place annually. Fulton Market submission close June 2, The Mart close June 5.
Submission Open March 3, 2026
Submission Closed June 5, 2026

Pricing

All fees must be submitted electronically. Apply for IIDA membership to take advantage of our member pricing!

Early Bird pricing runs March 3-31st.
On April 1, all pricing will increase by $50.
On May 27, all pricing will increase again by $50.

Guidelines

Submission Requirements

All submissions will be done electronically, no hard copy submissions will be accepted. To enter a project into this competition, you will need to prepare and submit the following:

  • Your firm's contact information including name, address, phone number, and email

  • Name of Manufacturer
  • Booth or Showroom Location (Address or Number)
  • Square Footage of the Space
  • On-site Contact’s name, email address, and cell phone number

Categories

Projects must be submitted in one of the categories below. Categories may be renamed, consolidated, or eliminated (and projects reclassified) at the discretion of IIDA and/or the jurors.

  • Large Showroom (4,000 sq. ft. or larger)

  • Small Showroom (under 4,000 sq. ft.)
  • Large Booth (400 sq. ft. or larger)
  • Small Booth (under 400 sq. ft.)

Judging

The winning design projects will be selected by a jury of design professionals.

Jurors will evaluate submissions ON-SITE:
Fulton Market on Saturday, June 6, beginning at 8:30 AM
The Mart on Sunday, June 7, beginning at 8:30 AM

The jury will select one (1) Best of Competition winner from the category winners at Fulton Market, and one (1) Best of Competition winner from the category winners at The Mart. The Best of Competition recipients will be eligible for the Best of Chicago Design Week Award, revealed at Revel In Design on June 7.

The jury reserves the right not to choose a winner in each category.

Prize

Winners will be honored at NeoCon and Design Days 2026 and will be featured on IIDA.org. Winners will also receive official digital assets, including competition winner logos for self-promotion, coverage and mention on IIDA’s social media accounts, and in an official press release distributed to leading industry outlets and media partners.

The Best of Competition recipients will be eligible for the Best of Chicago Design Week, revealed at Revel In Design on June 7!
