IIDA Emeritus members are interior designers who have dedicated their careers to not only making their mark on the industry, but also to creating a better future for the next generation. They have worked tirelessly to advocate for the recognition of the profession, introduced innovative approaches to design, launched and supported IIDA chapters or city centers, and devoted themselves to mentoring younger designers to promote a more equitable and diverse future of design—all while both practicing design and being active members of IIDA.
This year, we have chosen to honor these members through our inaugural induction to Emeritus status. IIDA Emeritus status is for our retired members who have contributed their life and career to the interior design and/or architectural industry. This honor not only allows for us to recognize and celebrate the people that have dedicated so much of themselves to IIDA and its mission and vision, but to also show our reverence for their commitment to the association and the industry. These are members who have devoted their lives to the work, and we recognize even while in retirement, the impact of their membership shines on.
