Who is IIDA?

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is the Commercial Interior Design Association with a global reach. We support design professionals, industry affiliates, educators, students, firms and their clients through our network of 15,000+ members across 58 countries. We advocate for advancements in education, design excellence, legislation, leadership, accreditation, and community outreach to increase the value and understanding of Interior Design as a profession that enhances business value and positively impacts the health and well-being of people’s lives every day.

What type of membership levels does IIDA have?

How do I change my Chapter or City Center selection?

You can make changes to Chapter and City Center assignments in your Member Profile. Follow up with your local IIDA Chapter to make sure that they change your information, too.

How and when can I upgrade my membership?

Students may upgrade to Associate status after graduation. Associate Members can upgrade to a Professional Membership after passing the NCIDQ, ARE, or NCARB exams. Visit our membership page for more information.

How do I pay my dues?

Members can pay their dues by logging into the member portal.

What is an Interior Designer?

A professional interior designer is qualified by education, experience, and examination to enhance the function and quality of interior spaces.

Can you recommend an interior design school or program? Where can I find a list of accredited programs?

IIDA, in conjunction with ASID, CIDA, IDC, IDEC and NCIDQ, has established a website to answer and guide for those seeking a career as an interior designer.

What are the requirements to become a certified designer?

What is NCIDQ?

The National Council for Interior Design Qualification, NCIDQ, serves to identify to the public those interior designers who have met the minimum standards for professional practice by passing the NCIDQ examination. Visit the NCIDQ website for information on their examination requirements, dates and locations.

Do you offer any NCIDQ Study Courses?

Some IIDA Chapters conduct study groups or have study guides and/or materials available. Contact your local Chapter or your Chapter VP of Professional Development for more information or to request programming.

Where can I find CEU programs?

CEUs are offered in a variety of venues. Visit our events calendar or academy section for current and upcoming opportunities.

How do I submit a program for CEU accreditation?

Send course materials to the Interior Design Continuing Education Council, IDCEC. IDCEC serves as a central clearinghouse for the sharing of CEU information, approval and registration. To learn about the submission and review process, visit IDCEC.
