The all-woman group receives IIDA’s highest professional member distinction

CHICAGO (May 11, 2026) — IIDA is honored to announce the induction of four new members to the prestigious IIDA College of Fellows. This year’s honorees are Mahlum Architects Principal, Stacey Crumbaker, FIIDA, Assoc. AIA, of the IIDA Northern Pacific chapter; Design People Leaders, Inc. Principal, Managing Director, Diana Farmer-Gonzalez, FIIDA, CDF, Assoc. AIA, of the IIDA South Florida chapter; Gensler Design Manager, Amie Keener, FIIDA, RID, of the IIDA Texas/Oklahoma chapter; and HDR Global Design Director, Interiors, Lois Wellwood, FIIDA, LID of the IIDA Illinois chapter.

IIDA to Inaugurate Bill Bouchey as International Board President at the IIDA Annual Meeting In June.

CHICAGO (May 4, 2026) — IIDA is proud to announce Bill Bouchey, FIIDA as the 2026-2027 president of the IIDA International Board of Directors, with Mike Johnson II, FIIDA, AIA, NOMA elevated to IIDA president-elect. Also elected to the International Board for new terms as vice president are Christina Gonano, IIDA, RID; Jennifer C. Graham, FIIDA; and Natalie Hartkopf, Ind. IIDA, CDF.

Winners named for the 52nd annual Interior Design Competition and the 33rd annual Will Ching Design Competition

CHICAGO (April 28, 2026) — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is honored to announce the winners of the 52nd annual Interior Design Competition and the 33rd annual Will Ching Design Competition. The Interior Design Competition, recognizes creativity and innovation within the global interior design industry, paired with the Will Ching Design Competition that highlights outstanding commercial design from firms with ten employees or fewer.

CHICAGO (April 27, 2026) — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Student Design Competition, sponsored by OFS and Carolina. The annual competition allows design students to highlight their creativity and vision while also gathering insights and experience with leaders of the industry. This year’s design challenge asked entrants to design a primary care clinic in a rural
community of Northwest Montana.

The International Interior Design Association Names Dr. Upali Nanda as the Recipient of this Prestigious Honor

CHICAGO (April 13, 2026) — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is proud to announce the recipient of the 2026 IIDA ICON Award, recognizing extraordinary service and contributions to the profession of interior design. Dr. Upali Nanda, Assoc. AIA has been named for her significant accomplishments and impact to the field.

BOISE, Idaho (March 31, 2026) — Idaho has become the 30th state and 32nd U.S. jurisdiction to enact reasonable regulation of the interior design profession. House Bill 790 (HB 790) was passed by the Idaho Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Brad Little on March 30, 2026.

Taking place in collaboration with NeoCon and Fulton Market Design Days, CDW events will focus on design, culture, education, and thought-leadership to complement the trade events, with a goal to give visitors a holistic view of Chicago.
