The 2026 Interior Design Competition Best of Competition winner is One Plus Partnership Limited for the firm’s work on THE KNOT HOUSE, Beijing, China.

CHICAGO (June 1, 2026) — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the American Library Association (ALA) are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 ALA/IIDA Library Interior Design Awards. This biennial competition, celebrating its 10th edition, recognizes excellence in library interior design and promotes examples of extraordinary design reflected through innovative concepts in nine entry categories.

CHICAGO (May 26, 2026)— IIDA and the IIDA Foundation are pleased to announce the 2026 recipients of its awards and scholarships. The IIDA Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit philanthropic organization with a mission to drive innovation and advancements in the commercial interior design field. The foundation seeks to make a meaningful impact through supporting grants and funding opportunities, and continued support of education, research, and outreach opportunities.

CHICAGO (May 18, 2026) — IIDA is pleased to announce the recipients of its annual Of the Year Awards, which recognize members demonstrating outstanding commitment, passion, professionalism, and dedication to IIDA and the design community. This year’s Educator of the Year is University of Florida Assistant Professor of Interior Design Lisa Sundahl Platt, IIDA, RID. The 2026 Member of the Year is Integrus Architecture Interior Designer, Senior Associate Megan Onley, IIDA. The 2026 Student of the Year, sponsored by OFS, is San José State University Interior Design Graduate, Leta Pham, Student IIDA.

The all-woman group receives IIDA’s highest professional member distinction

This year’s honorees are Mahlum Architects Principal, Stacey Crumbaker, FIIDA, Assoc. AIA, of the IIDA Northern Pacific chapter; Design People Leaders, Inc. Principal, Managing Director, Diana Farmer-Gonzalez, FIIDA, CDF, Assoc. AIA, of the IIDA South Florida chapter; Gensler Design Manager, Amie Keener, FIIDA, RID, of the IIDA Texas/Oklahoma chapter; and HDR Global Design Director, Interiors, Lois Wellwood, FIIDA, LID of the IIDA Illinois chapter.

IIDA to Inaugurate Bill Bouchey as International Board President at the IIDA Annual Meeting In June.

CHICAGO (May 4, 2026) — IIDA is proud to announce Bill Bouchey, FIIDA as the 2026-2027 president of the IIDA International Board of Directors, with Mike Johnson II, FIIDA, AIA, NOMA elevated to IIDA president-elect. Also elected to the International Board for new terms as vice president are Christina Gonano, IIDA, RID; Jennifer C. Graham, FIIDA; and Natalie Hartkopf, Ind. IIDA, CDF.

Winners named for the 52nd annual Interior Design Competition and the 33rd annual Will Ching Design Competition

CHICAGO (April 28, 2026) — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is honored to announce the winners of the 52nd annual Interior Design Competition and the 33rd annual Will Ching Design Competition. The Interior Design Competition, recognizes creativity and innovation within the global interior design industry, paired with the Will Ching Design Competition that highlights outstanding commercial design from firms with ten employees or fewer.

CHICAGO (April 27, 2026) — The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Student Design Competition, sponsored by OFS and Carolina. The annual competition allows design students to highlight their creativity and vision while also gathering insights and experience with leaders of the industry. This year’s design challenge asked entrants to design a primary care clinic in a rural
community of Northwest Montana.
