Professional Membership
The IIDA Professional Interior Designer membership is designed for practitioners of interior design who have passed either the NCIDQ or the ARE, and includes professional interior designers and professional architects.

Qualifications
Professional Interior Designer
You qualify for the Professional Membership if you are actively engaged in the practice, and have passed the NCIDQ exam. Your application must include proof of NCIDQ credentials. In lieu of NCIDQ credentials, you may also be considered for membership if you can meet the following requirements:
- You have completed a 2 or 4-year degree program in interior design, architecture, or a related field
- You have completed 15 years of work experience as an interior designer
- You can provide three letters of recommendation from IIDA members in good standing that can support your career achievements in the interior design profession
Professional Architect
Professionals are actively engaged in the profession and have completed the ARE exam. Or, you are actively engaged in the profession and meet the following requirements:
- Completed two to four years of coursework in an interior design or architecture program
- 15 years of work experience
- Can provide three letters of recommendation from IIDA members in good standing that can support the candidate's career achievements in the interior design profession
Member Dues
IIDA memberships run on the calendar year, January through December. Membership dues are prorated from April through June. All new members and members reactivating their memberships will have a one-time $75 application fee added to their dues.
