IIDA Interior Design Award

Warm golden wash on a white background, with soft gradients, two faded circular ring stains and scattered paint splatters and subtle texture.

The IIDA Interior Design Award (previously the IIDA Interior Design Competition) honors achievement in outstanding interior architecture and design that encourages and uses innovative interior design ideas, techniques, and furnishings. Established in 1974, the IIDA Interior Design Award has awarded some of the most forward-thinking and innovative interior design projects globally.

Sign up for Designed for Excellence, the bi-weekly newsletter dedicated to IIDA competitions and awards updates, plus news on events, celebrations, and award-winning design projects.

Who Should Submit?
Any interior designer or interior architect worldwide may submit their design projects completed within the last two calendar years.

Why Should I Submit?

Enter for the chance to have your work evaluated by world-renowned interior designers and architects like Susan Chang, IIDA, AIA; Dina A. Griffin, IIDA, FAIA, NOMA; and Sarah Kuchar-Parkinson, IIDA, ASID. Projects are judged on excellence in aesthetics, design, creativity, and function as well as the suitability of the design solution to the project challenge and the successful integration of the elements of design.

Winners are invited to and honored at Revel in Design, IIDA’s annual design celebration kicking off Chicago Design Week (NeoCon and Fulton Market Design Days), where the Best of Competition prize is announced. Winners will be featured on IIDA.org, published in Interior Design magazine, and in an official press release distributed to leading industry outlets and media partners.

When
This competition is open annually December through February — check back in December for more information about next year’s competition.

To be notified directly when this competition opens, contact IIDA Design Competitions Manager Veronica Whitaker at competitions@iida.org.
